Drivers beware: Freezing fog is expected to be widespread Wednesday night into Thursday morning, expanding into the Carson City, Sierra and Reno-Sparks regions, according to the National Weather Service.
Freezing fog is composed of supercooled water droplets which can immediately freeze into ice when it comes into contact with surfaces. This may cause slick and icy roads for the Thursday morning commute along with reduced visibility as low as 1/4 mile. Slow down and allow extra time to reach your destination.
