Carson City firefighters were called to a structure fire late Tuesday night at a Tiger Drive mobile home park in which a unit burned leaving a family homeless.
The residence had significant smoke and structural damage inside. The fire was brought under control at 12:16 a.m., Wednesday morning and fully extinguished at 1:22 a.m. No injuries were reported.
Witnesses said the family returned from work to find the home filled with smoke that appeared to come from the floor area in the front part of the unit. Family members grabbed what they could and evacuated.
First responding firefighters reported the mobile home was fully engulfed with smoke when they arrived and immediately knocked down flames that surfaced.
Carson City Sheriff's Office deputies evacuated the two adjacent mobile homes, one occupied by an elderly woman. The two mobiles were not damaged.
