A 41-year-old Carson City man was arrested Monday in the 300 block of Thurman Drive on suspicion of misdemeanor domestic battery.
According to the arrest report, officers were dispatched at 4:28 a.m. to the residence regarding a man that was agitated and throwing things. Officers arrived at the home and were allowed in by the man's father.
As the officers entered the home, the suspect was observed standing in the dining room and immediately put his hands in the air and told the officer he had better place him in handcuffs before someone gets hurt, the arrest report states.
The officer placed the man in handcuffs for the safety of himself and others and a deputy escorted the man outside while the arresting officer spoke with the father of the man.
The father stated his son has a history of mental health issues and said that at approximately 4 a.m. his son asked that he be taken to the gym or to borrow his father's car to get there. The father told the son he could not borrow the car. The son became angry and shoved his father backward using two hands. The father said the son then threw a coffee thermos at the wall in the dining room. Officers observed shattered glass from a picture on the ground as well as another item.
The father told the officer that his son said he was going to "clip" him, in which the father said he has heard the son use the term "clip" many times and believes it means to kill, the arrest report states.
The man's mother also told the officer that she had heard her son say this, according to the arrest report. Both mother and father said their son was using abusive language toward them during the entire encounter until deputies arrived. The man's mother said she was in fear for her and her husband's safety because their son was being so violent.
The man was taken into custody and booked into jail. A deputy informed the arresting officer that the man was very agitated and told the deputy he was going to kill him as well, the arrest report states. Bail: $3,132.
