Carson City man jailed after allegedly stuffing a six pack of bottled beer in his pants

A Carson City man faces a felony charge of shoplifting after being arrested early Friday morning at a convenience store in the 3000 block of North Roop Street.
Tarron Westley Evans, 28, was being held in Carson City Jail on $20,000 bail. A 35-year-old accomplice was arrested on four misdemeanor charges including drug paraphernalia and obstructing an officer.

Evans attempted to steal a six pack of beer, concealing it in his pants when he went inside the restroom of the convenience store, according to the arrest report. As he walked out of the lavatory, bottles of beer dropped out of his pants pockets. He said to the cashier, "If I give them back will you not call the police" and the cashier replied, "No, I'm still calling the police."

The man, who had walked into the store with a female, then got into a vehicle that was parked in front of the store and left. The woman was interviewed by Carson City deputies. She said she was hanging out with the driver of the vehicle, and they picked up Evans at a store. The woman said she walked out of the store when Evans was caught stealing, the arrest report states.

The female told officers she got into the car with the driver then a short time later Evans got into the car. The woman stated while they were in the car, the driver instructed Evans to run to his house on Lavender Circle. The driver then instructed the woman to tell police she didn't know Evans, the arrest report states.

The driver was interviewed, stated he only knew Evans by the name of Mike. He was placed into custody. Officers search the driver and found five small clear plastic baggies that contained white powdery residue. Inside the driver's vehicle was a small digital scale and a bundle of small clear plastic baggies located inside a backpack. He faces misdemeanor charges of larceny, obstructing, and drug paraphernalia. Bail: $3,028.
Evans was arrested when he attempted to walk up to the store. Bail; $20,000.

In other arrests:
An Idaho man with a felony warrant for probation violation was taken into custody Friday by the Carson City Sheriff's Office. Tyson Jay Coby, 31, was arrested in the 1400 block of North Carson Street at 8:06 a.m.
The Sheriff's office was contacted regarding Coby who was staying in a room at the North Carson Street motel. He is being held in the Carson City Jail without bond awaiting extradition. He was on probation and in violation of probation for reasons unknown, after serving time in prison on vehicular homicide charges.

— A 28-year-old Carson City man faces a gross misdemeanor charge of being in possession of a dangerous weapon after he was stopped Dec. 7 at 11:38 p.m. for speeding and reckless driving.

Officers stopped the man for speeding in icy conditions, going an estimated 50 mph in a 35 mph zone, fish-tailing as he was changing lanes, according to the arrest report.

The vehicle as stopped at South Carson Street and Fairview. The man declined to roll down his window when asked and refused to get out of the vehicle when asked. He could not produce a license and registration and appeared to be reaching for something underneath his seat as officers were talking with him through the window, which was later determined to be a baton, according to the arrest report.

He was taken into custody for the moving violations. He was found to be in possession of an orange pill bottle with marijuana inside. He faces the gross misdemeanor charge of being in possession of a dangerous weapon, and misdemeanor charges of: Reckless driving, driving too fast for conditions, no proof of insurance, no proof of registration, possession of marijuana and no driver's license in possession. Bail: $4,815.

— A 44-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Dec. 6, 11:26 p.m. in the 2700 block of Sherman Lane. She faces a misdemeanor charge of domestic battery. Officers were called to the location regarding a battery involving three roommates. Bail: $3,137.

— A 34-year-old woman and a 33-year-old man, both of Carson City were arrested Dec. 6 at 12:48 a.m. They each face misdemeanor charges of being in contempt of court. Bail; $500 each.

— A 28-year-old Fernley man was booked into jail on Dec. 6, 9:40 a.m. on a contempt of court, failure to appear charge. Bail; $1,000.

— A 21-year-old Mound House man was arrested at College Parkway and Roop streets Dec. 7 at 3:25 a.m. He faces a misdemeanor charge of being in violation of probation conditions (no drinking.) He blew a .058 breath test. Bail: $3,000.

— A 56-year-old Carson City man was arrested Dec. 7, 4:30 p.m. in the 1400 block of Rand Avenue on two misdemeanor warrants. Bail: $1,000.

— A 46-year-old Carson City man was arrested Dec. 7, 4:11 p.m. in the 1400 block of Rand. He faces a misdemeanor charge of drug paraphernalia possession. He admitted to having a meth pipe. Bail: $1,137.

— A 29-year-old Carson City woman was booked into jail Dec. 7, 11:25 a.m. on a bench warrant issued out of Carson City Municipal Court. She turned herself into authorities.

— A Carson City couple were arrested Dec. 6 in the 300 block of Meyer Street. The couple, both 25, face misdemeanor charges of contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Bail: $1,000 each.

— A 28-year-old Carson City man was arrested Dec. 5, 6:43 p.m. in the 1800 block of North Edmonds. He faces a misdemeanor charge of being in violation of a suspended sentence. Bail; $3,000.

— A 25-year-old Carson City man was arrested Dec. 7, 10:31 p.m. in the 1500 block of Old Hot Springs Road. he faces misdemeanor charges of driving on a suspended license, obstructing a police officer and driving on a revoked/suspended registration. Bail: $1,161.

— A 19-year-old man was arrested Dec. 8, 2:34 p.m. in the 900 block of Palo Verde after allegedly punching holes in the walls of his mother's home. He faces misdemeanor charges of destruction of property and possession of drug paraphernalia (two glass pipes.) Bail: $1,759.

— A 34-year-old Carson City man was arrested Dec. 8, 1:13 a.m. near Fifth and Nevada streets. He faces a misdemeanor charge of DUI. He was stopped for failure to maintain and lane and driving without headlights.
The man told officers that he had recently taken 3 shots of Fireball whiskey, according to the arrest report. He showed impairment on all four field sobriety tests. He took a evidentiary breath test at jail, where breath samples were above illegal per se, according to the arrest report. Bail; $1,137.

— A 52-year-old Carson City man was arrested Dec. 8 in the 3200 block of South Carson Street. He faces a misdemeanor charge of being an intoxicated pedestrian. Several people had called 911 regarding the man who was reported to be stumbling around in traffic. Bail: $87.

— A 20-year-old man was arrested early Monday, 5:32 a.m., Dec. 9, in the 1500 block of Walker Drive. he faces misdemeanor charges of destruction of property and minor consuming alcohol. The man was banging on the door of a residence and broke the door jam. The man was taken into custody and took a breath test where he blew a .213. Bail: $869.

Those arrested and facing charges are innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
