Enjoy the sunny, warm weather this weekend because a cool and downright cold change is on the way by late Monday, according to the National Weather Service.
Light winds with above average temperatures are expected through the holiday weekend, making for ideal conditions to bike and hike around Carson City, visit Virginia City or head to Lake Tahoe for skiing.
Winds will increase Monday afternoon as a strong cold front approaches from the north. This cold front, expected to reach Carson City and Western Nevada by Tuesday, will bring much below normal temperatures for the remainder of the week, with a chance of snow showers.
Temperatures behind the front will be especially chilly, according to the weather service, with highs struggling to reach 30 degrees, with night time temperatures down in the lower teens, according to the weather service.
