A 21-year-old Carson City woman faces a felony arson charge after allegedly lighting her boyfriend's underwear on fire in the hallway of their home.

Amber Lynn Gray was arrested by Carson City Sheriff's Office deputies at 7:12 a.m. Tuesday, in the 3800 block of Highway 50 East.

According to the arrest report, deputies were dispatched to a Brown Street address at 5:30 a.m. Upon arrival officers made contact with the boyfriend who stated they had been drinking and got into an argument when he said Gray lit his underwear on fire in the hallway and then threw a water bottle, hitting him in the face, according to the arrest report.

The boyfriend stated the argument started after he returned from the store where he bought cigarettes. The man told deputies that Gray was upset because he did not get her cigarettes. He told officers that she began destroying property inside the residence, grabbing a water bottle and throwing it at him, hitting him in the head, the arrest report states.

He further stated that Gray then lit a pair of his underwear on fire and threw them on the floor in the hallway by the bedroom door. The boyfriend told officers that he extinguished the fire by putting the burning underwear in the bathtub. He stated that the woman then left the residence, possibly going to another apartment in the same building.

The sheriff's deputy taking the report said there weren't any visible injuries to the boyfriend's face or head. A deputy then took photographs of the residence and the burn damage to the carpet and underwear in the bathtub. Two others who live in the home stated they saw Gray throw the water bottle at the woman's boyfriend and observed the flames in the hallway, the arrest report states.

Deputies then went to the apartment nearby and made contact with a man, who was uncooperative and stated the woman was not at the residence. A deputy made contact with Gray at a casino in the 3800 block and took her into custody. She faces a felony charge of arson and misdemeanor charge of domestic battery. Bail: $43,132.
