Earlier this year Tiffani Barber of Carson City was diagnosed with gliobalstoma, the most common and aggressive malignant brain tumor. She found herself at age 24 in the fight for her life.
Tiffani is well known in Carson City for her beautiful contagious smile and upbeat personality. She is a hairstylist at Salon Chocolat, crossfit coach at Carson City Crossfit, but most of all she’s a daughter, sister, and a friend. As you can imagine, all who know her were taken to their knees at the grim diagnoses. During this time of sadness, she stayed positive, never taking a second to reflect on her condition.
While at Stanford’s Cancer Center receiving her radiation treatments, she spent “spare” time uplifting the children who also have cancer. She brought them cards and made them friendship bracelets, she showed her true selflessness.
While in town in between radiation treatments, she was doing Crossfit and coaching Crossfit, never letting on that she was sick. Not once has she complained about losing hair or being tired. She lived life as she normally would. She assured her friends and family that she was going to beat this cancer.
Starting her chemotherapy treatment this month, she has reached out to her friends, family and community to raise money to help with her medical bills. Tiffani and a handful of brave women are standing up to cancer by shaving their locks of hair together.
April 7th at 2pm, Salon Chocolat will be hosting “Bald is Beautiful.” Please come out and support this inspiring young woman and her fight for her life. All donations will go to Tiffani to pay for her medical bills. Salon Chocolat is located at 177 W. Proctor Street in Carson City.
