Carson City resident, Rick J. Radecki of Lion's Roar Media, will be performing his unique blend of live singing of Romantic Standards, Broadway Show Tunes, and 70s/80s love songs on Sunday, September 22 at the "Dayton Valley Days" celebration.

Radecki was born and raised in southern California, where he grew up hearing his parents play the hits of the day and yesteryear recorded by the likes of Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Perry Como, Nat King Cole and others, as well as many a Broadway favorite on the family's only phonograph player. He says, "This is where my love for the old romantic standards and most-loved Broadway show tunes first developed, as I always associated this kind of music with the happy times experienced in our household. Ever since those memorable days, I was hooked and knew that this music would stay with me forever."

Since those early years growing up in a suburb outside of Los Angeles, Radecki gravitated more to the love songs of the 70s and 80s than to any other type of genre of those decades. After leaving California to fulfill a 20-year promise to his wife, he relocated the family in 2011 to her hometown region of southeast Texas. Not able to find full-time employment to justify the family staying there, Radecki and his family made the tough decision to leave the friendly confines of the Lone Star State and accept a family member's offer to stay with them in Dayton until he was able to secure a job that would allow them to plant their roots somewhere in the Carson City area. Since May of this year, he has worked at the POST Stewart Facility off of Snyder Avenue, and he and the family now live, work and enjoy having their teenaged daughter attend school and dance classes near their townhouse just five minutes' driving distance from the state capitol.

In order to effectively share his passion of singing what he calls the "Soundtrack of Your Life," Radecki established his own part-time startup entertainment company called, "Lion's Roar Media," which is the marketing and booking entity he uses to promote his love for performing live music and emceeing. He uses LRM to "get the word out about what I love to do and have a web presence to allow potential customers to contact me for whatever special events they'd like to hire me for." He's been successfully operating his side company since 2005 and says that people in northern Nevada are finding him through the best source of advertising available--word of mouth. The Internet address for Lion's Roar Media is www.LionsRoarMedia.biz

Radecki, along with what he calls his "band-in-a-box," will be performing his one-man show at the "Dayton Valley Days" celebration on Sunday, September 22, for two appearances: from 11:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.; then, from 2:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. The shows are free, as well as admission to "Dayton Valley Days" in the Old Town section of Dayton. He will be handing out CD samples of his music and dedicating special songs to those in the audience.
