The Carson City Council of the United States Navy League will hold its bi-monthly meeting on Wednesday, September 18, 2013 at Gold Dust West Hotel and Casino, 2171 Hwy 50E, Carson City. The social hour is at 5:30 PM followed by a buffet dinner at 6:30 PM.
The Speaker for this month’s meeting will be Gwenn Sperling, HMCS (AW) USN Ret. Senior Chief Sperling was assigned to the Branch Medical Clinic at Marine Corps Mountain Warfare Training Center before she retired. She received the prestigious award of Outstanding Independent Duty Corpsman while serving on the USS LY Spear. She has also served in Operation Deep Freeze, McMurdo Sound, and Antarctica and as part of the Joint Task Force-Full Accounting for Remains Recovery in Viet Nam and Laos.
