A 28-year-old Dayton man faces a felony charge of robbery after allegedly stealing a bottle of liquor from a grocery store on Wednesday and then assaulting the store security by knocking him to the ground.
Donald Lee Davis was arrested in the 170 block of Koontz Lane at 1:05 p.m. with the help of witnesses.
According to the arrest report, officers responded to Raley's in the 3700 block of Carson Street for a report of shoplifting and battery. Davis had allegedly gone into the store and grabbed a bottle of liquor valued at $35.70 and concealed it in the front waistband area of his pants. He then left the store without paying, the report states.
Davis was confronted outside the store by a security officer who told the man to give back the property and to return to the store with him. Davis then removed the bottle form his waistband and told the victim: "I'm not going anywhere with you," according to the arrest report.
Store security attempted to detain the man in which Davis then pushed him in the face through the south doors of the grocery store, knocking him to the ground, the arrest report states.
Davis was located in a carport area of a Koontz Lane address where he was detained and positively ID'd by the victim. Davis faces a felony robbery charge. Bail: $40,000.
In other felony arrests, a 29-year-old Petaluma man was booked into Carson City Jail on Wednesday for three felony-related fugitive from justice warrants out of California and two misdemeanor failure to appear warrants out of Dayton Township Court.
Kyle Andrew Bates is being held in Carson City Jail without bail and will extradited back to California. The California charges are contempt of court involving theft, assault with a deadly weapon and possession of Valium for sale. The Lyon County charges involve failure to appear for a traffic citation and no proof of insurance.
Misdemeanor arrests:
— A 50-year-old Dayton man was booked into Carson City Jail on Thursday, 12:01 a.m. for violation of conditions. Bail: $1,000.
— A 21-year-old Carson City woman was booked into jail Wednesday, 1:42 p.m. on a misdemeanor warrant for petit larceny.
— A 32-year-old Mound House woman was booked into Carson City Jail on Wednesday, 6:29 p.m. for misdemeanor violations of conditions. Bail: $1,000.
Those arrested and facing charges are innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
