A 26-year-old Carson City man faces misdemeanor drug and contempt of court order charges after he was arrested Monday, 5:40 p.m. near the intersection of Chaparral and Clydesdale.

According to the arrest report, Carson City Sheriff's Office deputies observed a man riding a bicycle in the middle of the street against traffic and another man walking to the north on a sidewalk. Officers contacted both men. The officer who spoke with the pedestrian was asked if he had any weapons or drugs on him in which the man spontaneously said he had a smoking pipe and a small amount of marijuana in his right front pants pocket, the arrest report states.

In the man's right front pants pocket officers found a cigarette pack that had a metal smoking pipe, a piece of wire and a small knife. Also in the pocket was a glass container with a screw lid. Inside was a small amount of marijuana, the arrest report states.

A computer check determined the man was under supervision of Carson City Justice Court. The court requested a hold be placed on the man for criminal contempt, failing to obey all laws. He faces misdemeanor charges of possessing drug paraphernalia, possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, and criminal contempt. Bail: $2,374.

In other arrests:
