No need to purchase an expensive ticket or go through the hassle of traveling to Hawaii when we've got a bit of the Aloha spirit coming to Carson City this weekend.
The Boys and Girls Club of Western Nevada is planning one heck of a Luau as part of its 20th anniversary celebration this Sunday, Sept. 8 at Mills Park Pony Express Pavilion.
Not only will the food and entertainment be great and you'll have the chance to dig out your Hawaiian shirts and shorts, but you'll have the chance to bid on some mighty fine auction items with all funds going to help keep the Club running smoothly.
The auction highlight will feature a golden lab puppy and a Fender guitar signed by six of the best known rockers of the 80's: Eric Clapton, Brett Michaels, Jon Bon Jovi, Meatloaf, Roger Waters and Joe Perry (a $2,000 value, courtesy of Carson City Supervisor Brad Bonkowski.)
And, since this is Hawaii themed, you'll have the chance to purchase raffle tickets for a one-week Kauai vacation donated by Laura Fitzsimmons and valued at $5,200. Go here for more information. Call the Club at (775) 882-8820 to reserve your spot or purchase raffle tickets. Doors open at 3 p.m.
