Thursday, Aug. 29 through Saturday, Aug. 31, Carson City sheriff's patrol motor officers Sgt. Mike Cullen and Deputy Joseph Trotter will represent Nevada's capital city in Milwaukee, Wis., during the Harley-Davidson Police Riding and Skills competition.
This is a unique event as in addition to competing against more than 110 other police motorcycle officers from throughout the United States, the two will also participate in training classes on escort and riding techniques as well as motorcycle maintenance.
Harley-Davidson is also celebrating its 110th anniversary during this time and many motorcycle enthusiasts are expected to attend and view the competition as well as partake in the many other activities that will be going on during this time.
The patrol motor deputies have been working all year to raise money so that they could attend this event. With the assistance of Carson City Harley-Davidson, The Carson City Nugget, and Carson City Dodge, the deputies were able to raise enough money through donations and t-shirt sales to pay their way to this event.
Our thanks go out to the citizens and businesses of Carson City that helped the deputies reach their goal so that they could attend this event.
