Carson City woman jailed after admitting to physical battery on mother

A 37-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Tuesday and faces a misdemeanor charge of domestic battery after allegedly being in a physical altercation with her mother.

According to the arrest report, Carson City sheriff's patrol officers were dispatched at 10:15 p.m. Aug. 13 to the 1900 block of Carson Street for a domestic battery call. Officers arrived and spoke with the mother who told officers she feared her daughter was using meth and went out looking for her. The victim told officers she found her daughter near a casino.

The daughter became angry, taking her mother's right arm and grabbing her around the back of the neck. The mother was able to break free from the hold and called the sheriff's office. The mother told officers she didn't want to press charges against her daughter but knows she has been using drugs and needs help, the arrest report states.

Officers spoke with the daughter who said she was in an argument with her mother, and admitted to grabbing her around the neck but let go after a few seconds, the arrest report states. The daughter said she was angry with her mother because her mother wants her to stay away from her boyfriend, the arrest report states. Bail: $3,132.

In other arrests:

— A 23-year-old woman turned herself into Carson City Sheriff's Office jailers at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 13. The woman had a warrant for her arrest, violation of conditions of a suspended sentence. The woman told authorities she had been in New York and returned to Carson City. She said she has changed her life greatly and is no longer involved in drugs. She told authorities she had the warrant hanging over her head and it bothered her, according to the arrest report. Bail: $3,000.

— A 20-year-old Carson City man was booked into Carson City Jail on Tuesday with a charge of contempt of court, failure to appear, issued July 22, 2013 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $1,000.

— A Dresslerville woman, booked in Carson City Jail facing felony charges, faces an additional misdemeanor charge of theft with a warrant for her arrest out of East Fork Township. Samantha Ann Henry is currently in jail facing charges in a purse theft in which credit cards were stolen and then used. Carson City officials learned of the Douglas County warrant on Tuesday.

— A 35-year-old South Lake Tahoe man was booked into Carson City Jail on Tuesday, Aug. 13, and faces two misdemeanor warrant charges including violation of conditions and failure to appear for traffic court. Bail. $2,586.

— A 41-year-old Carson City man was arrested Tuesday, Aug. 13 in the 3200 block of Woodside Drive. He faces a charge of being in violation of a temporary restraining order issued July 15. The man admitted sending a text message to his ex-wife. Bail: $3,147.

— A 31-year-old Carson City man was arrested Tuesday, Aug. 13, 11:10 a.m. in the 3600 block of E. Nye Lane. He faces a misdemeanor contempt of court charge. Bail: $3,000.

— A 25-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Tuesday, 7:29 a.m. in the 100 block of Carson Meadows. She faces a misdemeanor charge of domestic battery. According to the arrest report, officers were dispatched to the address in reference to a physical domestic battery. On arrival, officers met with the victim and the woman. The woman said she and her boyfriend were in an argument regarding his whereabouts during the night. The woman stated she pushed her boyfriend on the head and then grabbed his genitals. Bail: $3,137.

Those arrested and facing charges are innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
