One person died Thursday morning in a three-vehicle crash on Highway 395 south of Gardnerville, the Nevada Highway Patrol reports.
The accident, reported at 9:50 a.m. south of Riverview, involved a Ford Taurus wagon traveling northbound on Highway 395 that was preparing to make a left turn onto a private drive, said NHP Trooper Dave Gibson.
The Ford Taurus was struck in the rear by a Chevrolet pickup pushing it into the southbound travel lane in front of a Dodge pickup towing a trailer traveling southbound. The Ford Taurus and the Dodge collided in the southbound travel lane. The driver of the Ford Taurus received fatal injuries, said Gibson.
The occupants of the two other vehicles received unknown non-life threatening injuries. The roadway was diverted onto Riverview and Palamino for approximately four hours while crews investigated the scene.
