The Bison Fire grew to 1,400 acres late Thursday night with around 15 percent containment and 220 firefighters working the blaze, the Douglas County Sheriff's Office reports.
No structures have been damaged and no injuries reported, said Douglas County Sheriff's Sgt. Pat Brooks. Air support has been suspended for the night.
Hand crews will monitor the fire through the night. The fire has moved from the previously threatened structures, however fire crews are monitoring this area should the fire shift back towards the structures.
The fire, burning in southeastern Douglas County, is headed toward the old Ray May and Preacher fires. The direction of the fire has been in a south to southeast direction.
The plan is to fight the fire heavy in the morning with air support, hand crews and engines, before the afternoon weather moves in, Brooks said.
