High Sierra Swing Dance Club invites the public to its sixth-annual anniversary Spring Ball dinner-dance on April 27 at the Carson Nugget, 507 N. Carson St., Carson City.

Dust off your evening gowns and neckties for an evening of great food and even-better dancing. The semi formal/formal-attire evening begins with no-host cocktails at 6 p.m.

The “Local Celebrities Who Think They Can Dance” contest begins at 6:30 p.m., with the audience voting for the winners. Public figure/local celebrity dancers are Jeff Pace, owner of Artsy Fartsy art gallery; Joy Evans, Carson City Convention and Visitors Center events planner; Lisa Schuette, Carson Middle School health teacher and founder of the Carson Animal Services Initiative; Tonya Champa, Nevada Appeal advertising account manager; and Jim Shirk, Carson City supervisor, competing against his wife, Michelle Shirk.

A buffet dinner is served at 7 p.m., with dancing to a variety of DJ music throughout the evening. Raffle prizes of services and goods from local merchants and individuals will be awarded throughout the evening.

The cost is $30. To reserve a will-call ticket, go to www.highsierrasdc.org or call 530-544-8745, 775-225-6437 or (775) 629-9369 by April 24; no tickets will be sold at the door. For more information, go to www.highsierrasdc.org or call the numbers above.
