Two California women jailed earlier this week in a credit card fraud scheme, face additional felony charges including burglary and being in possession of forgery devices.
Markeisha Yvette Orviss, 22, and Kamesha Joann Cooper, 24, of Pittsburg, Calif., remain in jail and face the additional charges.
According to the arrest report, the women were in possession of a large amount of credit cards that had been altered. During the arrest and booking Orviss had in her possession a Dymo LetraTag label maker which was in conjunction with the large amount of gift cards found in her possession.
As the investigation continued detectives again interviewed the women. Orviss stated that she and Cooper were unaware the cards were fraudulent and advised they had purchased them from an unknown man in Oakland, Calif. Orviss stated that they came to Nevada to use the fraudulent cards and did so at Lowe's and Office Depot.
While interviewing Cooper, she advised that she was asked by Orviss to come with her to Nevada and use the fraudulent cards, stating that the two had an agreement to split the money gotten from the credit card purchases. She also pulled from her bra and pants a large amount of credit cards during the interview without being requested to do so, according to the arrest report. She was in possession of four Nordstrom $100 gift cards that she purchased from Lowe's, according to the arrest report.
