Rollover accident sends teen to hospital via Care Flight, 18-year-old arrested for DUI

UPDATE 9:33PM: An 18-year-old man is in custody and a 14-year-old was flown to the hospital after a vehicle rollover Wednesday night in Carson City.

The 14-year-old was taken to Renown Medical Center by Care Flight with head and neck injuries, said Carson City Sgt. Scott McDaniel. The condition of the injured teen is unknown at this time.

The rollover was reported at around 7:50 p.m. on Marsh Road at the end of Fifth Street. The rollover happened on the city street, said McDaniel.

A 16-year-old passenger in the vehicle was cited for being a minor consuming alcohol. A female passenger, and, possibly a male passenger, were seen leaving the scene of the accident, said McDaniel.

The 18-year-old driver had minor injuries.

Carson City fire and rescue responded to the scene of a single-vehicle rollover Wednesday night in which one person suffered serious injuries and was flown by Care Flight. The rollover happened in the 700 block of Marsh Road in Carson City.

Care Flight landed at the scene of the accident, according to fire and rescue personnel, and took one victim to Renown Medical Center in Reno. The victim had been trapped inside the vehicle.

The incident happened at around 7:50 p.m. One person, reported to be the driver, was detained, according to Carson City sheriff deputies via dispatch.

A passenger in the vehicle took off running, according to witnesses, and was being pursued by officers. She is described as an adult, possibly a teen, Asian, with black hair, wearing blue jeans and a black hoodie.

The condition of the person flown to Reno is unknown at this time.
